Music Experience Discovery Project (June - July 2019) 

Stage: Exploratory

Project Scope: Uncover user behaviors around in-home music experiences and assess the market potential for Roku’s audio products. Validate user interest in an expanded ecosystem to inform product strategy and shape a targeted marketing approach for the successful launch of Roku’s soundbar and subwoofer.

  • Understand music listening behavior, music management, and music discovery in the home

  • Understand Roku’s potential market share in home audio products

  • Validate consumer interest in an expanded audio product ecosystem

  • Literature review

  • 90-minute ethnographic field sessions in consumers’ homes (n = 9)
